Welcome

The German Conference on Bioinformatics is an annual, international conference devoted to all topics in bioinformatics. Its tradition reaches back to 1985, and recent conferences have attracted up to 200 participants from all over the world.

The 2006 conference is organized by the Center for Bioinformatics Tübingen (ZBIT) and MPI for Developmental Biology.

Topics and Focus

The main topics of the German Conference On Bioinformatics 2006 in Tübingen are:

This year's GCB will have a special focus on Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) and we specifically encourage submissions related to this topic. PPIs are fundamental for allmost all biological processes and can be analyzed on a wide range of levels, from the molecular level to the level of systems. The thematic focus aims at highlighting new developments in this area. The focus is not limited to specific computational techniques or biological applications. Scientists applying bioinformatics in life science related research are especially encouraged to present their work at the GCB.
